Decisions
The New American Century Dictionary defines decision as the act or process of deciding- to resolve after consideration. We make decisions every day. Some decisions have little bearing on other people or very little effect on our own life. Other decisions we make can have a lasting impact well after we have gone from this earth. These choices can be good or bad. I have made decisions that reach far to both sides of this spectrum. Most of my decisions have not had a lasting impact but some have and will have an eternal effect.
Yesterday, I attended a funeral of a woman that I have never met. You may ask, why would you do this? My answer is simple, I went because she made a decision that has had a bearing on my life- not only my life but many others as well. A few decades ago, Eileen donated part of their family farm for the purpose of building a new church. The church was then in the town of Rock Creek. The farm was a couple of miles to the south on the corner of K-92 and K-4 highways.
I am eternally grateful to this woman. My family and I have attended Rock Creek Bible Church for a few years now. It has had a positive influence on my life. I don't know where I would be if the church wasn't located in such a visible location. What I do know is that Eileen's decision, coupled with my decision will have eternal bearing on my and my family's future.
Eileen lived in Phoenix, Arizona during the time period of my coming to Rock Creek. As I said earlier, we never met. There are many people I will have the pleasure of talking to when I get to heaven, Eileen is certainly one of them.
