A Balanced Man
My goal is to be as much as a balanced man as I can. What I mean by that is to be a man that is centered and not caught off "balance".
I need to be a leader and make strong and courageous moral choices when faced with those decisions. At the same time I need to be the soldier that protects and stands for what is right- by what God says is right. But also to be the husband that loves my wife without fail. Plus to be a loyal friend to those around me- accountable to those close to me. I need to avoid surrendering or compromising when I know what's right and keep my integrity.
I need not to give up or become disconnected or withdrawn. At the same time not become a tyrant or destroyer. And yet not be critical, harsh or a user of people.
A balanced man is never a "middle of the road" man that is morally compromised as our present day culture has become. A balanced man is restrained by what is right. Today's young men need to be "called-out" by older men to stand steady for what is right. There are times that I need help staying in balance- and with the help of other men and more important the Holy Spirit that can happen.
